Garlic-Parmesean Griddle Bread
Serves 4
Ingredients
4 slices low-carb commercial bread
1 tablespoon unsalted butter
1 egg, beaten
½ cup half and half
1 teaspoon garlic powder
¼ teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon chopped fresh rosemary or ½ teaspoon dried
1 tablespoon freshly grated parmesan cheese
Directions
- Trim the crust from the bread slices and cut each slice into 4 long rectangles (cut each slice in half, then lengthwise cut each half in half again).
- On the stove, heat a griddle or large skillet over medium heat.
- In a shallow bowl, combine all remaining ingredients
- Melt butter on the griddle or skillet
- Dip both sides of each rectangle of bread in the egg and cream mixture and fry until golden brown on the first side, about 2 to 3 minutes; flip and brown the other side.
- Serve immediately or hold in a single layer on a baking sheet, uncovered, in a warm oven for up to 15 to 20 minutes.
