Garlic-Parmesean Griddle Bread
Serves 4

Ingredients
4 slices low-carb commercial bread
1 tablespoon unsalted butter
1 egg, beaten
½ cup half and half
1 teaspoon garlic powder
¼ teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon chopped fresh rosemary or ½ teaspoon dried
1 tablespoon freshly grated parmesan cheese

Directions

  1. Trim the crust from the bread slices and cut each slice into 4 long rectangles (cut each slice in half, then lengthwise cut each half in half again).
  2. On the stove, heat a griddle or large skillet over medium heat.
  3. In a shallow bowl, combine all remaining ingredients
  4. Melt butter on the griddle or skillet
  5. Dip both sides of each rectangle of bread in the egg and cream mixture and fry until golden brown on the first side, about 2 to 3 minutes; flip and brown the other side.
  6. Serve immediately or hold in a single layer on a baking sheet, uncovered, in a warm oven for up to 15 to 20 minutes.
